We are in the process of recruiting a Senior Manager, Investment Strategy who can execute on key projects, build relationships, contribute to the strategic planning and development of the Equality Fund’s investment program, and communicate the Equality Fund’s impact and opportunities for collaboration. The Equality Fund’s investment program consists of investment stewardship (in collaboration with key partners), field building in gender-lens investing, and investment innovation. The Senior Manager, Investment Strategy will report to the Head of Investment Strategy, will work with colleagues in other areas such as strategy, governance, finance, policy, philanthropy, grantmaking, and communications, and will work with our external investment partners.

SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Think strategically and contribute to short, medium, and long-term planning for the Equality Fund’s investment activities. Work closely with the Head of Investment Strategy and the Equality Fund’s investment partners, listen to stakeholders’ desires and needs, and assist with the evolution of the Equality Fund’s investment strategy, including investment guiding principles and execution plan.
Relationship Building and Field Building:
Build upon existing external relationships and collaborate with Equality Fund colleagues, form new partnerships, contribute to field building, and drive investment-related policy and advocacy initiatives.
Marketing, Promotion, External and Internal Communications:
Communicate the Equality Fund’s investment activities, co-investment and field building opportunities to external investors and partners. Contribute to and review documents, presentations, investment committee and discussion memos, and other materials to communicate our investment strategy.
Scenario analysis and synthesis:
Anticipate stakeholder needs and objectives, synthesize information from multiple inputs, map and analyze alternatives and future paths as we build out our processes, investment portfolio, products, services, and activities.
Work with our committees, advisors, and other partners; monitor, comply with, and contribute to contractual and governance requirements.
Impact measurement and analysis:
Measure, monitor, and track KPIs and impact. Research and develop impact measurement methodologies to communicate the impact and results of our investment activities, measure and manage risk, contribute to the Equality Fund’s measurement, evaluation, and learning framework, and inform decisions.
The Senior Manager, Investment Strategy will play a key role in designing and building the investment activities at the Equality Fund. The ability to thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment and to visualize business operations and activities that don’t exist yet is needed for this role. Having a future-oriented mindset, being comfortable with experimenting, collecting feedback and iterating, and a propensity for informed risk taking is valuable. This role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities, to steer in new or different directions, and to rethink your role as our needs change. Business building skills or process development experience is welcomed. Having start-up experience or an interest in the start-up environment is helpful.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
-7-10 years of experience in strategic planning, stakeholder management, portfolio, asset, or fund management.
-You may have prior experience working within financial advisory services (including audit, transaction services, corporate finance), wealth management, asset management, financial institutions, or investment consulting.
-Understanding of ESG and impact investing, public markets and private markets, and can translate technical investment language into plain language.
-Prior experience working with fund managers and/or investment/portfolio managers.
-Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
-Sales and marketing skills.
-Working experience with Hubspot is an asset
-Systems thinking skills.
-Experience in, exposure to or interest in impact investing or gender-lens investing
-The ability to thrive in a fast paced and complex environment is essential. You are able to juggle multiple priorities, navigate changing realities and work effectively with a range of styles and approaches.
